Elate Product Roundup: Everything We've Been Building (And What's Coming Next)

From smarter, more configurable AI to faster risk identification and reporting that's easier to trust, here's everything we've shipped since spring. Plus, a first look at what's coming next.

It's been a minute since we've talked about what's new at Elate. Not because nothing's happened, quite the opposite, actually. We've been heads-down shipping, and the backlog of things worth telling you about got long enough that it deserved its own announcement.

So here's the update on almost everything that shipped between March and June, plus what's ahead.

There's also something bigger in motion we’re excited about: an MCP Server and Public API that will let you reach Elate and Strategy Advisor from wherever you're already working, without opening the app at all. More on that toward the end, so don't miss it!

But first, here's what's shipped

Over the last quarter, we've been steadily deepening Strategy Advisor, Elate’s AI engine, and tightening the platform around it. Here's the rundown, grouped by what it's actually for.

Strategy Advisor got smarter, more useful, and more yours

The biggest theme of the last three months: Strategy Advisor is now showing up in more places, and it got more configurable, starting with new Strategy Advisor Settings.

You can now set Strategy Advisor's tone, industry, and strategy methodology, and point it at your own website for context. This is the difference between a generic AI assistant and one that sounds like it actually works at your organization.

We've also added the ability to Create an Objective with Strategy Advisor, because staring at a blank objective field is its own kind of friction. Strategy Advisor now walks you through creating one so you're not starting from nothing.

‍Plan Analyzer got some attention too, even though it's been quietly live for a while. Upload your existing strategy docs, annual plans, quarterly updates, whatever you've already built, and Plan Analyzer reads them, organizes the content, and maps them into an Elate-friendly structure that's ready to be executed upon. It makes everything you've already planned and worked on actually usable inside Elate, instead of sitting in a doc nobody opens again (we've all been there).

Strategy Advisor also reads every comment thread on Objectives, Outcomes, and Tactics, and gives you the summary, so you're not scrolling through weeks (or months) of commentary to figure out what actually changed. And since status comments carry so much of the story behind a plan's execution, we added Comment Threading, allowing you to reply to a specific comment, instead of burying your response in a flat list.

Risks got faster to act on

Risk Navigator got some real functional upgrades. What was previously a sorted list of risks within your plan now has filters, by type, sentiment, and risk level, and the option to save your views for easy access. We've also added the ability to generate Risk Reports from the feed with just one click.‍‍

Before, spotting what actually needed attention meant scrolling through the list. Now you can filter it down to what matters for your role, save that view so it's there next time you log in, and pull a full report the moment someone asks for one. The goal is catching what's off track earlier and having the answer ready before you're asked for it.

We also added an "Ask Advisor" button on your Risk Feed, giving you the ability to chat with Strategy Advisor in context, without leaving the page.

Reporting got easier to trust

Reporting Assistant, one of our most used and loved features, saw several enhancements.

First off, we added the ability to Link a Scorecard to an Advanced Report. Now you can pull an existing scorecard into a report, choose your sections and date range, and you've got a visually appealing report that actually shows outcomes instead of just listing them.

And speaking of scorecards, we've added the ability to visualize how an outcome is pacing compared to the same time last year, all with custom color options so the report can fit your brand.

The platform got easier to navigate

While many features received new bells and whistles, we spent several weeks on the overall platform experience, starting with Refreshed Navigation. The side navigation now has new colors, new icons, and the ability to collapse and expand it.

‍Hierarchy View got a lot of attention too. It's the view you rely on to see your entire connected plan in one place, whether you prefer that in an interactive canvas or a collapsible table. We added the ability to filter it down by teams, owners, statuses, and more, so you can actually see the connections you're looking for. It also now shows up in more places: inside Themes and Teams modals, and as a new Hierarchy View widget you can add directly to a report, so no matter where you're working, you can always see how the work connects to the broader strategy of the company.

Working together got less scattered

Visualizing data and automating reporting only matters if the operating rhythm behind it holds up, which is why we added Status Update Templates!

Set a template for how status updates get filled out across your team. Better structure in, better data out, which is the whole premise behind everything Elate does.

What's coming next: MCP Server and Public API

While we're excited about the enhancements Elate has seen the last few months, we are equally (ok, maybe a little more) excited about what is coming soon.

Right now, Strategy Advisor lives inside Elate. You open the platform, you ask it something, and it answers using the context already sitting in your strategy system.

We're building a version of that where you don't have to open Elate at all. An MCP Server, which is the same idea as an API but built specifically for AI applications instead of other software, will let you ask ChatGPT or Claude things like "what objectives are overdue for an update" and get an answer pulled straight from your strategy system. No logins. No tab switching. The same grounded, structured answer Strategy Advisor already gives you, just available wherever you're already working.

This matters because of what it isn't. It isn't a chatbot bolted onto a spreadsheet. It’s a bridge between your preferred AI application and your ongoing strategic execution in Elate. The reason an AI application can give you a useful answer about your strategy at all is that Elate already knows the priorities, owners, updates, and risk signals behind it. The AI isn't guessing on context you have to continually feed, but instead reading the system that was built for this.

While Elate can already connect with 60+ applications, we're also opening things up on the system-to-system side with a Public API. This means Elate can connect even more cleanly with the other software tools already in your execution stack. Think no manual exports, fewer errors, and less manual work. None of this replaces the systems you already use, just connects to them, better.

In addition to the MCP Server and Public API, our product and engineering team is working hard to bring additional features and enhancements to life later this year. Here are a few highlights:

• A new Chronological Timeline view of your strategy
• Additional UI/UX enhancements to a variety of modals across the app
• A Balanced Scorecard view in Reporting
• Plan Analyzer enhancements for more flexible transitions, and more

Why we're telling you this now

Strategy doesn't fail because organizations don't plan or think hard enough. It fails in execution, in the gap between a plan and the work that's supposed to carry it out. Every release above is aimed at closing that gap a little further: better data going into the strategy system, faster ways to see what's at risk, and now, an AI layer that's about to follow you outside the platform entirely.
