As summer draws to a close, it's that time of year when business leaders step into the spotlight. For a majority of companies that operate on a calendar fiscal year, we are entering the homestretch for 2023, where execution becomes paramount, and planning for 2024 takes center stage.
However, for too many companies, strategic planning often amounts to nothing more than a ‘check-the-box’ exercise. Sadly, we often hear, “We formulate a strategy at the beginning of the year but we never revisit it. It’s just an exercise to check the box.” Or even worse, “We establish a strategy, only to cast it aside in the first month due to shifting priorities.”
